What The Bible Says About Heaven

As the first line of the Bible states;

Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth.”

With God as Heaven’s creator we can only begin to imagine its awesome nature. It is surely beyond human comprehension, but with that being said, the Bible does give us some enticing hints as to what it will be like and what awaits the faithful.

Here is what we know;

Heaven is the Lord’s dwelling, it is His home and he welcomes all who believe in him to join him in Heaven.

Revelation 21:3 – And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them

John 14:2 – My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Psalm 23:6 – Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Heaven is beautiful beyond your imagination, it is the one and only true paradise.

Revelation 21:11 – It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal

Luke 23:43 – Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

It is a place of enlightenment, filled with love and joy and all things good and positive.

Psalm 16:11 – You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

It will be your eternal home where you will find peace and everlasting joy and you will glow in the glory of God.

John 10:28 – I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Revelation 14:13 – Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Matthew 13:43 – Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

There are no negatives in Heaven, no pain or sorrow, no suffering or discontent, no death or destruction – only joy and peace. Complete and total contentment.

Revelation 21:4 – ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Revelation 7:16-17 – ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat.

Luke 20:36 – and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.

Job 3:17 – There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest.
